Interior Carpentry — Updating Molding and Baseboard Paneling

Another ongoing project is preparation for updates to the interior baseboard paneling and door moulding within this home. Attention to these details will surely elevate the feeling of this home, and create a warmer, more inviting space.  As you may see in our in-progress photos, measuring and taking the unique features of each room in this home into account is essential to a successful installation. We are so excited to see the finished product when it is completed!

Freshening Up the Trim — Exterior Paint Progress

In our classic attention to detail, it was decided that the next project would be to pay the exterior of this home’s trim some attention. As you may see in our BEFORE images, this property’s exterior paint was due for maintenance to repair damage from exposure to the elements over the years. Our team removed the old paint, and repainted the trim and overhang ceiling with a fresh weather-proofed coat.

For a look at our improvements to the restroom’s plumbing, please see our previous post, Plumbing Improvements. Stay tuned for more updates!

Time to Tile

It is time for our crew to tile. First, they take careful and detailed measurements of the room. With all of the supplies at the ready, the team prepares to tile the wall. The fiberock is put into place first.

They then begin with the window area and first take time to frame out the edges. After measuring the wall again to layout a pattern for the tile, they begin to place the tile.

After laying out the bottom pieces, they then installs glazed white tile up the wall. Continuing up the wall, the team did an excellent job creating the fresh new white back wall of the shower.

Once all the tiles are in place, the team grouts the whole wall. Taking time to wipe down the extra grout for cleanliness, the final touches are put into place. Once the tiles are clean, the tub is resealed.

The bathroom looks amazing! This job has come together beautifully.

The Details Matter: New Paint Trim and New Fan Installation

All over the house the team begins the task of place a fresh coat of paint on the base boards and door casing. While only a light touch up of paint is all that is needed the details matter. First to protect the freshly painted walls the team precisely masks the wall from any paint that could run over as the fresh coat of white is applied.

Once the tape is place our team reaches high to reach the tops of all the door casings and brush the paint by hand. They also stoop down low, and get on their knees to carefully place the fresh white along the bottom of all the walls. The new white gives a marvelously clean look around the house. The details matter.

To match the white a new fan can be seen hung here in bedroom number one. 3 more fans will add the same look in the kitchen and other 2 bedrooms. This project is coming along wonderfully.

Bringing Freshness to the Bathroom with New Paint

Bathrooms are one of biggest selling points in a house, so painting the bathroom is at the top of crew’s list. The original cabinets were painted a dark blue to match the splash pattern that already existed on the walls. We wanted to give the bathroom a more open and fresh look.
Taking a color cue from the shower tile, a soft and attractive seaglass blue was picked as the color for the cabinets.

On their knees, the team rolled and brushed the cabinets with care and detail. Next, all the walls were painted a clean white to bring the blue to life and cover the old dated looking pattern. Taking the time to go into depth behind the toilet and wall fixtures, no spot was left without a new clean look.

This bathroom has truly made a beautiful transition from dark and aged to new and improved.

Securing the Countertops & Installing the Sink

This week, the crew was fully ready to put some finishing touches in place for this lovely home. A kitchen is the central part of the home.

New countertops, which were carefully selected for design, were completely installed. By tightly fastening the counter to the lower cabinets and wall, it was firmly secured in place. Now food can be prepared or displayed for dinner by a future homeowner on fresh new countertops that look amazing.

Going underneath the cabinet system, our team ensured there were expertly-secured water connections by re-connecting the plumbing under the counter to the sink. A final upgrade to the sink system was the installation of a brand new faucet as well.

Our team also updated the paint and trim within the kitchen space. All of the base board’s edges were given a fresh coat of white paint. The new painted cabinets and fresh wall paint make this kitchen a beautiful place to prepare meals.

For a look at our team’s previous progress with this home, please see our previous post, Rolling Up the Walls. Check back for soon for new updates.
